Ian Lowry (5) was the last winner of the Sunflower Trophy race in 2011

The Sunflower Trophy meeting returns to its traditional October date in 2013 after the event was cancelled this year.

The organisers switched the date of the country’s leading circuit race to the summer in a move that apparently backfired.

However, the ‘Sunflower’ reverts back to its more familiar position on the calendar next year and will run on Saturday, October 12, 2013.

The dates have been finalised at the MCUI Inter-Centre Conference.
