Joeys charity continues to grow with the committee announcing plans for a further two apartments to be constructed at Braddan Bridge House.

Established in 2001 , the charity has endured many highs and lows before the self-catering apartments that cater for people with special needs was formally opened by Linda Dunlop and John McGuinness at TT 2010.

Kevin Quirk, Trustee welcomed both Linda and John when they attended last week’s annual charity dinner on the Isle of Man. John was the principle guest with Ryan Farquhar, Jeremy McWilliams, Conor Cummins and Dan Kneen keeping the 150 guests entertained.

The highlight of the evening was when John drew the winning ticket for the 2012 JDF tombola, a rather shocked lady from Warrington received a telephone call from the Morecambe missile to advise she had won the John McGuinness Limited edition Honda Fireblade. Initially believing it was a hoax call , the winner was very happy when she realised she was actually speaking to a TT Legend.

For several years Honda machinery has been supplied by John’s team manager Clive Padgett and again Kevin acknowledged Clive and Neil Tuxworths support during his opening speech.

Joey’s charity will be attending several motorcycle shows before the start of the road race season when they visit Olivers Mount in April before heading of to the North West then returning home for the TT.
