At the mid-day point of the final day of Moto2™ testing at the Jerez circuit in southern Spain where the predicted rain did not stay away it was Mapfre Aspar Team Moto2’s Nico Terol who was top ahead of Marc VDS Racing Team’s Scott Redding and surprise inclusion, Tech 3 Racing’s rookie Danny Kent.

Terol, who has been one of the pace-setters since testing got underway this year, put his Suter top in the wet conditions with a 1.54’860, with Redding just les than three tenths behind. Most notably is Kent’s performance, with the rookie doing exceptionally well in the conditions to finish less than a tenth behind his compatriot.

Came IodaRacing Project’s wet weather specialist Johann Zarco put in a trademark performance to end the first session in fourth, with NGM Mobile Forward Racing’s Ricky Cardús impressing in fifth. Maptaq SAG Zelos Team’s Xavier Siméon came sixth, whilst Tuenti HP 40’s Pol Espargaró did not go on track.

Moto2™ teams will now have time to run by themselves for a period, after sharing the track with Moto3™ in the morning.
