Defending champion Shane 'Shakey' Byrne set the pace in the first official test at Donington Park this morning as the Rapid Solicitors Kawasaki rider moved ahead of the Samsung Honda pairing of Alex Lowes and Ryuichi Kiyonari who headed the times in the early stages.

Kiyonari was one of the first riders back out on circuit this morning and completed 25 laps as he returned to Donington Park, the home of his WSB race win. Lowes moved ahead of his triple title-winning team-mate in the final stages with Keith Farmer fourth.

James Westmoreland was the leading Buildbase BMW in fifth as he moved ahead of a charging Karl Harris on the PR Kawasaki who moved up to sixth in the final minutes. Josh Waters had his first laps on the Milwaukee Yamaha and the Australian immediately got to grips with the new bike and track in seventh. Robbin Harms, Jon Kirkham and Peter Hickman rounded out the top ten.
