BikeSocial.co.uk, the dedicated online home for Britain’s biking community, has today announced a landmark sponsorship agreement with the Isle of Man TT fuelled by Monster Energy. The partnership will see this year’s Lightweight TT Race renamed the BikeSocial.co.uk Lightweight TT, which will take place on Friday 7 June over 3 laps of the famous 37-mile plus Road Course.

World adventurer, TV star and Bennetts ambassador, Charley Boorman, will be on hand to start the race at 10.15am from the famous Glencrutchery Road start line.

The BikeSocial.co.uk Lightweight TT Race is one of the iconic Isle of Man TT Races and was introduced in 2012 for 650cc twin cylinder machines with Northern ireland’s Ryan Farquhar beating James Hillier and Michael Rutter to the top of the podium.

A number of the leading TT racers have confirmed entries for the 2013 race including lap record holder Michael Rutter, last year's runner-up James Hillier, three time TT race winner Michael Dunlop and Conor Cummins, who has the fastest standing start lap of the TT Mountain Course. Much interest also surrounds the debut of a Chinese-made 650-twin ridden by Australian David Johnson.

Launched by Bennetts in 2012, BikeSocial.co.uk is the website where bikers can get the latest news and reviews, interact via blogs and forums, promote their own events regardless of size, highlight their favourite routes and download others, show off photos of their pride and joy or a recent trip and much more. Therefore it is the natural destination for TT fans to share their experiences of this year’s event which runs from 25 May to 7 June 2013.

Hannah Squirrell, Associate Director of Bennetts said: “The Isle of Man TT is a unique event with an illustrious history and wonderful aura. No other event away from the track has the exhilaration of the Isle of Man TT and we’re delighted to be partnering it with BikeSocial.co.uk.”
