Beach Buddies on Right Course

Beach Buddies, an Isle of Man group of volunteers who give their time clearing the Island’s beaches and other areas of litter have been busy walking around the 4.25-mile Southern 100 Billown Course picking litter and other items of rubbish from the hedgerows and walls in preparation for the Blackford's Pre TT Classic Road Races which commence on Friday evening 24th May 2013.

Organiser Bill Dale said:

‘The organising Southern 100 Club spend a great deal of time preparing the course prior to the start of the races ensuring that it is in pristine condition for the competitors and Beach Buddies are doing their part to ensure that the spectators and fans who line the spectator areas for the first road races of the TT fortnight see the surrounding areas at their best.’

Bill was assisted by local residents Ron Ronan and his life long friend Dave Wilkinson spent the whole day on Tuesday carrying out their task which took longer than their initial estimation.

All three were pleased with the results of their efforts and plan to return prior to the Steam Packet Southern 100 Road Races in July to ensure the visitors to ’the friendly races’ enjoy a litter free meeting.

Southern 100 Racing is extremely grateful to Bill Dale, Ron Ronan and Dave Wilkinson of Beach Buddies for their kindness and hard work.
