Tom Sykes (Kawasaki Racing Team) has kept the lead in qualifying after the second session, thanks to the 2'05.355 seconds time set yesterday. Donington's double winner saw his margin decrease consistently throughout the 45 minutes, up until Leon Camier (FIXI Crescent Suzuki) clocked just 0.028 seconds slower than his fellow Brit.

Factory Aprilia riders Sylvain Guintoli and Eugene Laverty considerably improved their lap-times from Qualifying 1, to finish third and fourth respectively. The current Championship leader, still suffering from his shoulder injury, has definitely shown some good signs of improvement on a single quick-lap.

Davide Giugliano (Althea Racing Aprilia) and Jonathan Rea (Pata Honda World Superbike) were the last two riders able to break into the 2'05 seconds bracket, ending up in fifth and sixth place. Spaniard Carlos Checa made a good step forward in terms of lap-times, moving up to ninth place behind Frenchmen Loris Baz (Kawasaki Racing Team) and Jules Cluzel (FIXI Crescent Suzuki).

Despite still finishing within one second from the leader, 10th place Chaz Davies and team mate Marco Melandri (BMW Motorrad GoldBet) are still looking for a step forward that would help them to jump up to the front positions.
