Top Ulster team Mar-Train Racing will support this month’s Sunflower Trophy meeting at Bishopscourt with Alastair Seeley and Dean Harrison confirmed for the end-of-season showpiece on October 24/25.

Seeley, who holds an outside chance of retaining the British Supersport title for Tim Martin’s outfit at the final round at Brands Hatch (October 17-19), will ride his 600cc Yamaha along with Bradford man Harrison, who will also compete at the Co Down circuit on his Kawasaki Superstock machine.

Team owner Martin said:

“Both Dean and Alastair will be riding at the Sunflower meeting. Alastair will be riding the 600 and Dean will be riding his Superstock bike as well as our 600.

“Dean’s Superbike will be on its way to Macau at that stage so he’ll go with the ’stock bike and Alastair will only ride the 600, unless he comes up with a Superbike ride somewhere.

“We’ve made a pilgrimage to the Sunflower every year and I didn’t want to let the organisers down because they’ve had two or three hard years.”

MWR Kawasaki is also Sunflower-bound with James Egan and Carrick’s Andrew Irwin, who clinched an excellent runner-up finish in the National Superstock 600 race at Silverstone on Sunday.

Mar-Train Racing will focus on the international road races in 2015 with a possible two-man line-up after revealing plans to take a British Supersport sabbatical.

TT winner Harrison, who rode the team’s 600 on the roads this year, is an obvious candidate to remain in the blue and white livery but has strong ties with RC Express Kawasaki, while Ballymoney’s William Dunlop is another star name linked to the Temple-based outfit for 2015.
