STATEMENT ISSUED ON BEHALF OF THE MANX MOTORCYCLE CLUB

The Manx Motor Cycle Club, organisers of the Manx Grand Prix, regret to announce that Dennis Hoffer, 42, ...from Hoogkarspel in Holland was killed in an incident near the 13th milestone during last night’s Manx Grand Prix qualifying session on the Isle of Man.

Hoffer, 42, who was single, was a newcomer to the Mountain Course. He has been a regular racer on European circuits since 2009.

The Manx Motor Cycle Club wishes to extend its deepest sympathy to Dennis’s family and friends.

I am sure that I can speak for and on behalf of all the people who use TTwebsite, and that is to extend out sincerest sympathy at this tragic time, to the family and friends of Dennis.

The rider involved in the second (unconnected) incident, close to the 13th milestone is Ken Davis, who is said to be in a comfortable condition.

Ken was taken to Nobles Hospital by helicopter after sustaining fractures.

Ken is a member on here - previously known as 'an old man returns'.  I think he's now AOMR racing.  Get well soon mate.
