Bruce Anstey will showcase his TT winning electric motorcycle at the Formula E finale in London early this weekend according to the FiaFormulaE website.

Anstey, already a 10-time TT winner and former lap record holder, won the 2016 TT Zero race riding a Mugen Shinden Go BA machine.

The bike will be on display in eVillage throughout the event in Battersea Park.

Formula E is an open wheel, open cockpit, all electric car championship series.

Each round is held on city streets with practise, qualifying and the race taking place on the same day. London will host the final two rounds of the Championship this Saturday and Sunday.

The season started in Beijing, moving on through South and North America, before European rounds in Paris, Berlin and finally London.

Currently there is just a single point separating ex-Formula 1 drivers Luca Di Grassi, driving for Audi Sport Abt Scheffler, and Sebastien Buemi of Renault e.dams.

Anstey, whose 118.416 mph lap around the Mountain Course was only eight seconds shy of John McGuinness’s lap record of 18m 58.743s and will do demonstration runs around the Battersea Park track, starting at 1.10pm, on both days of the double-header event.

On the fiaformulae website Oli McCrudden, event manager for the Visa London ePrix said:

‘(Mugen’s) achievements at the TT are astounding...breaking ground in their market and driving EV technological development.’

Anstey acknowledged the work work by Mugen in delivering a new bike each year for himself and team mate John McGuinness and is: ‘Really looking forward to showing the bike to a wider audience.’
