The Auto 66 Club members have put a lot of work in over the past few months clearing pathways etc. at Oliver’s Mount in preparation for the record breaking crowd expected at the Steve Henshaw International Gold Cup on Saturday & Sunday 24th & 25th September.

Star riders from past and present will be available for photographs and autographs on the Saturday and Sunday. A number of them will be in the bar in the biker’s village around lunch time where Tony Coupland will be hosting one of his famous chat shows.

Amongst the top riders from the past are ex World Champions Giacomo Agostini, who may possibly be making his last appearance on the MV at Oliver’s Mount, Jim Redman MBE, who will definitely be hanging up his leathers after the Gold Cup parade. The ex-works Honda rider who is a Multi-World Champion has decided to finally retire now he is in his late 70s. Another World Champion Phil Read MBE, respected at Oliver’s Mount as one of the neatest riders to compete around the course, will also be parading. These three World Champions will be backed up by Steve Parrish, Mick Grant, Chas Mortimer, Dean Ashton, Roger Burnett, Trevor Nation, Eddie Roberts, Steve Tonkin, John Cooper, Nick Jefferies, Alex George, John Cooper and Mark Phillips. All these riders will be parading on the Sunday of the Gold Cup meeting and will be in the paddock area preparing their machines on Saturday afternoon. There is the possibility, time permitting, of a few practice laps for the parade machines. The stars of today who are also taking part in the parade as well as racing that weekend are, Ian Lougher, Ivan Lintin, Dean Harrison William Dunlop, Michael Dunlop, Gary Dunlop & Dan Kneen.

Heading the sidecar entry is World Champion Tim Reeves, alongside Oliver’s Mount regulars Lee Crawford & Sam Christie, Steve & Matty Ramsden and Dave Wallis & Tony Belsey. The sidecars will have 3 races in total over the weekend with all of them counting towards the UK Super 2 Sidecar Masters.

There will be 10 Races on Saturday starting at 1.30pm and 12 races on Sunday, including the Famous Gold Cup, starting 10.30am. Practice will commence at 9am each day with gates opening to the public at 8am.

All Advanced tickets are now sold out but there are still plenty available on the gate.
