HASLAM LEADS WARM UP AHEAD OF OPENING SHOWDOWN RACE

Leon Haslam topped the morning warm up session for the MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship ahead of the opening two races of the Showdown at Donington Park, holding off Luke Mossey and John Hopkins in the final stages.

Haslam hit the top of the times in the early stages, snatching the advantage from Dan Linfoot who had set one of the first flying laps of the session. The JG Speedfit Kawasaki rider who starts from pole position was pushing forward, improving his pace to maintain the advantage.

John Hopkins had another strong showing on the ePayMe Yamaha to move third in the final minutes of the session from James Ellison and Shane 'Shakey' Byrne who completed the top five.

Linfoot was the leading Honda Racing contender in sixth place ahead of Peter Hickman, who spilt the team-mates with Jason O'Halloran in eighth. Tommy Bridewell and Christian Iddon completed the top ten as the countdown begins to the opening races of the Showdown.
