The Honda rider has had a tough winter after suffering a complicated right ankle fracture in Australia – but he’s back for the Sepang Test

Cal Crutchlow (LCR Honda Castrol) will get back on board a MotoGP™ bike for the first time in over three months after suffering a complicated pilon fracture to his right ankle in his high-speed Turn 1 crash at Phillip Island.

Since then, the three-time Grand Prix winner has undergone numerous operations to the right ankle, including the reconstruction of his talus (heel), with two metal plates also being fitted to his tibia. An injury that ended his season, and one that Crutchlow admits questioned whether he’d ever ride again.

However, after resuming his much-loved training method of cycling alongside multiple Tour de France stage winner Mark Cavendish in California, the 33-year-old is feeling as good as he can be ahead of his much-anticipated return to MotoGP™ action.
