RE: Scouts to say farewell to TT scoreboard
Loads of happy days history there and where I was fortunate enough to start getting close to the racing as a Cub / Scout behind the boards picking up from the painters and knocking the plates through to the front of scoreboard, then moved up to the rider positional clocks then onto the front of scoreboard for tearing off the lap sheets and hanging the painted time/speed plates then across the road and up to the old rickety "daddy long legs" control tower for calling the rider positional clock control by radio and running messages to and from the commentators etc, lovely memories especially when in those days we were allowed to sit and dangle legs over the front of scoreboard to watch the start of each race.
