Motorcycle Union of Ireland (Ulster Centre) Ltd

Press Release Date 06/04/21

The MCUI (UC) wish to update everyone on the current situation and prospects of resumption to sport in 2021.

We currently review all statements from the Offices of FM, dFM, Department of Communities, The Health Minister, CMO and SportNI.

The Department of Communities and SportNI supply almost weekly updates, guidelines and training courses to help the MCUI (UC) plan a resumption of Sport in a safe environment. These courses are available to all our affiliated clubs and personnel.

On 21st January we stated the resumption of our sporting events was planned for 5th June at Kirkistown. This is very much still our target date for return to competition.

From the 12th April the total number of persons attending an outside event is restricted to maximum 15 on site.

Until this number is increased significantly, we are still unable to consider running the Newcomers Licence Training days.

The newcomers training event is our priority before competitions return.

Patience is what we require for now, adhere to social distancing, face coverings and hand washing.

Understand the Government is trying to avoid future restrictions and lockdowns which should be everyone’s goal.

We will update everyone in due course of any changes in the coming weeks. Meantime Stay Safe.
