Re: Ellan Vannin
Brilliant, great to see that Ago and Grantie didnt forget Gwen, who is without doubt just as much part of the TT Heritage as the riders are.
Can anyone tell me where i could get a recording of; Ellan Vannin, i would really appreciate if anyone could help me in this.
Thanks
Baylon

Re: Ellan Vannin
Baylon,

I have one somewhere - but it is not for sale. The following information might help you to track down a copy. Otherwise, you could email Bernie Quayle at Manx Radio, who is a family friend of the Gibbs and persuaded them to release that great track for charity.:

Bee Gees
personnel
Barry Gibb -- vocal, guitar
Robin Gibb -- vocal
Maurice Gibb -- vocal, keyboards
James Kelly -- fiddle
produced by Barry Gibb, Maurice Gibb, Robin Gibb

original records
Ellan Vannin. Isle of Man: Isle of Man Children in Need, April 1998
Ellan Vannin. Isle of Man: Post Office, October 1999

A side
ELLAN VANNIN
writers: Eliza Craven Green, J Townsend (1854); Barry Gibb, Robin Gibb, Maurice Gibb (1998)
recorded about April 1998, Middle Ear, Miami Beach
lead vocal Robin Gibb
stereo single Ellan Vannin

Recorded during early sessions for This is where I came in, "Ellan Vannin" appeared on two limited edition CD singles both containing just the one song and both released in the Isle of Man, the brothers' birthplace. The song is sometimes called the unofficial anthem of the Isle, and the arrangement and new last verse are by the Bee Gees. (They previously did an unreleased version of just the first verse in 1971, with a harmony vocal instead of the solo vocal here.) The first limited edition of 1,000 was sold through Manx Radio to raise money for the Children in Need charity on the Isle of Man. The second issue was made available as part of a package by the Isle of Man post office, with the Bee Gees commemorative stamps issued in October 1999.

Re: Ellan Vannin
Can I say a BIG THANK YOU , to each and everyone who has helped me in the above posting. It is very much appreciated. I first heard this played at the , Villa Marina, when we were invited to a Tribute to joey Dunlop, after the Joey lap of Honour, the intro, for the proceedings that day will last forever in my memory, glimpses of Joey, Glimpses of various parts of the IOM, It was the haunting music, in the sombre mood felt that day, and i really just wanted to have this, so i could play it in my own home. Thanks Again everyone.
Regards baylon
