Bill Snelling BBC
Please havaluke at the write-up Bill Snelling got on the BBC website....

Well Done Bill, and good luck with your excellent new book "The History of the Clubmans TT Races 1947-1956" which has reminded me of the riders of my initiation era, Lou Carr, Alan Jefferies, Ewen Haldane, Frank Perris, Arthur Lavington and of course Geoffrey Duke.

The "Clubmans" was a series of races which are almost forgotten these days and therefore have deserved such a book to show what the full TT programme was like in those days.

I have a copy, thank you Bill, and have already tears in my eyes remembering these famous names who started off their TT careers as "Clubmen".

Thanks for the shout Ian; the main instigator for the Clubman's book was Fred Pidcock, he wrote the comprehensive text which allowed me to use a lot of nice pics from the FoTTofinder archives.
Nice cover for your book Ian, can't wait to read the whole story!

I read this last week, and apologise to Bill - I meant to send a message saying how good it was to see some sensible comments - as ever from Bill. Big Grin

Good to see the comment underneath the article from "Ben" who is a newcomer to the IOM and in the financial sector, and loves the TT.
The good thing about Bill's books are that they are accurate.

Another headline for Cargo.
