TTMA upset
I hope this is not true but I heard last night that the directors of the TTMA had requested the resignation of Jan Hurst as secretary of the marshals association, which she duly agreed to, naturally her husband Roger Hurst has gone with her.

This is,in my opinion, a terrible tragedy as these two people have been responsible for putting the TTMA on a properly organised basis,of course not alone but they have been the prime movers.

Anyone who truly knows the facts of this situation please let us know.

The people who will know the facts are the TTMA. Why don't you ask them rather than ask people to post what they think the facts are?

I don't think the question was open to just anyone, but..........

So I can't see the harm in any of the posts thus far :?

However, if you know of something, then best not post it here just in case someone from the TTMA see's it Lol

Do'nt lets start the guessing game there are many reasons why people resign voluntary positions the most common being 'I've done my stint let someone else have a go' and many reasons are private to themselves and should remain so.
Lets thank Rodger and his wife for all the hardwork they have put in to what many see as a high profile thankless job.

Agreed Arthur, but you can't get away from the fact that this is a very emotive subject, and many people will be very saddened by what has happened  For whatever reason :!:

This is very serious for the future. I have been dreading the day they would decide to pack it in and get a life for themselves. Whatever the reasons, they have been amazing, and will be very very difficult to replace. Thanks you Jan and Roger, for all the support and help you have given in the past. Two true heroes.

Jan and Roger
I would also like to register my dismay at the departure of the Hursts...

There is no published reason as yet so let's wait until we hear an official report other than speculating.

The Hursts have done a great deal for the Isle of Man and for that we must say thanks to them both.

One wonders, however, that in this decade of political correctness, the safety factors and the high standards Roger set, there could be a mounting problem with the difficulty in recruiting the right sort of marshall.

If you look at my original post it says that the directors of the TTMA asked for the resignations, that is the case as my source is impeccable.

Well whatever the true reasons are they have gone and the TTMA will be all the poorer without them.
