Something afoot?
When people say one thing and mean another its called politics, when organisers say one thing and mean another its called a mistake, when the ACU say one thing and mean another its called information.

The ACU Events Ltd is a Private Limited Company incorporated on 13/4/2006., so am I right in thinking this is the first time in 100 years that the organisation of the TT will be given to a private concern.
ACU Events Ltd is not the ACU.
Let's hope they can handle it.

How I read it Don ACU Events Ltd is an offshoot of ACU Ltd and in the event of liquidating the TT organisation reverts to the ACU Ltd.
It seem to me that both organisations are registered as private companies.

Being the cynical creature I am,were ACU events Ltd. incorporated in April 2006 purely in order to take over the TT this year? in a plan hatched between them and the DTL.

Do they actually run any other events?

Well Bee Pee you might not be being cynical, you might just be observant.
It will be no surprise to you that the first board meeting of the new ACU Events Ltd (there was and old one) was on Sept 27th 2007, and in a remarkable coincidence the MMCC's letter of resignation was signed on Sep 27th 2007; possibly signed by someone with their right hand as their left hand may have been up their back.
It does make you wonder why the MMCC (or some of them) had to publicly express disappointment after the letter of resignation was issued.
Would this indicate a lack of collegiality at the MMCC, or perhaps there is a new and an old MMCC?
But then I can remember being roundly criticised for speculating on this same subject some time back.
Still the functionaries at the DTL have chosen their preferred organisers and I fervently hope it is the best choice for the TT riders and spectators in 2008.

ACU Events Limited was set up to run the "ACU MAXXIS British Motocross Championship" since 2006. They are obviously expanding their "portfolio".

Sep 27th was the last date in the contract that the resignation could be done.
