Senior Classic Report
The sun actually managed to break through as the Silver Jubilee Classic Senior race got underway at 6.00pm, over a reduced race distance of three laps, 113.19-miles. By Ramsey on the opening lap Gary Johnson on the MV Agusta held a 6.33 second lead over 2007 winner Ryan Farquhar who had a nine second advantage over Alan Oversby.

By the Bungalow the gap had widened by a further two seconds, whilst Farquhar had increased the gap between himself and Oversby by another 15 seconds.
However, by the end of the lap, it was Farquhar who led on the roads and time, as the MV and its rider pulled into the pits to retire, with fuel problems.

The official times gave Farquhar an 11 lead over Oversby with Tony Myers now in third 37seconds adrift of Oversby. Bill Swallow, Mark Parrett, Steve Linsdell and John Goodall all retired on the opening lap with machine problems.

Glen Helen on the second lap gave Farquhar a 26.30 second lead over Manx Norton mounted Alan Oversby, who in turn had a 34 second advantage over similarly mounted Tony Myers. By Ramsey, Ryan Farquhar had a 33 second lead over Alan Oversby, as news came through that Tony Myers had retired at Westwood, near Kirk Michael, letting Roy Richardson on the Drixton Honda slot into third place albeit 67 seconds down on Oversby.

At the end of the second lap Alan Oversby had cut Ryan Farquhar’s lead to 26.93 seconds, as Allan Brew (Seeley G50) slotted into third 2.14 seconds ahead of Roy Richardson. Farquhar’s advantage had been cut by a further 3 seconds at Glen Helen on the third and final lap, with Alan Brew still third.

Roy Richardson retired with machine trouble, letting Wattie Brown into fourth place.
Be right back. I am going to go find myself, and if I leave before I get back, make sure to tell me !! -
