RE: Early Morning Practice - A Piece of Written Nostalgia
no mention of the most important part of the early practice periods---the cadbury tent!!thin leathers freezing coming round kates to feel the suns warmth which helped one to make it back.then the tent..boys and girls would come up from town and get u to get them cocoa and a choc biscuit.then the trade barons would arrive back to tell you what they thought of your riding.geoff murdoch would park in a field at the 11th milestone.he didnt realize we could see his car as we came over the top and so were able to put on a special display for his benefit!. that was the manx in the 50s.
