Swan Honda rider Stuart Easton re-wrote the speed history books during the first NW200 practice session on Tuesday. The Hawick star clocked up a mind boggling 204 mph through the speed trap on the high speed run from Station Corner to the University section of the course.

Easton recorded the time twice on his way to third position in qualifying during Tuesday’s practice evening. Stuart, twice winner at Macau in 2008 and 2009 makes a return to the North West 200 circuit after a three year absence.

Twelve times NW200 winner Michael Rutter had set a speed trap record of 201.1 in 2004 and was the first the smash the 200 mph barrier at the International North West 200.
