Advertising Accommodation, Booking Accommodation and Paying For It
For those of you who book your accommodation via the TTwebsite Forum, please ensure:-

That prior to forwarding any advance payment as a deposit (no more than 20% of projected total), that you have verified the actual existence of the accommodation.

Please ensure that you ask for a definitive address and a contact telephone number (land line not mobile), and ask for photographs of what it is that is being advertised for rental/hire.

Make your advance payment via a method that is recoverable in the event that your accommodation is not what you agreed upon, or in fact you fall foul of an unscrupulous advertiser. Ensure that you receive a receipt for your deposit payment prior to your departure to the Isle of Man.

Ensure that you have verified the truth of the claims/statements made by the advertiser regarding the location, size and furnishing of the accommodation.

Exchange contact details, Arrival and Departure dates, Agree upon other Terms such as No Smoking, No Pets etc ..

It is up to you to check and ensure that what you are getting is what you want and what you are paying for.

An advertiser will be able to provide you with a static email address and not one of the "Hotmail/Yahoo/Gmail" type. Any advertiser who uses an email address of the that type should be considered very carefully, prior to any transaction being entered into.

Please be advised that TTwebsite take no responsibility whatsoever for any transaction that takes place between the advertiser and person (or persons) regarding the hire and/or rental of any type of accommodation advertised via this forum.

In order to ensure that any accommodation that you require for your visit to the Isle of Man is genuine and to a satisfactory standard, we recommend that you check availability with the Homestay Service that is checked out by the IOM Government prior to any sanction being given by them for the purposes of providing accommodation to persons visiting the Isle of Man.

The Homestay on line accommodation requirement facility can be found on: - This Link

Note to Advertisers:- It is an offence under the Tourist Act 1975 if you do not register your home and you are accommodating paying guests.
