I never got to speak to joey,or shake his hand but in 1996 i got a wave back as he flashed past on his way down to brandish, something that simple made me feel great. In 2000 i watched from gooseneck as he lifted the formula 1 title "again"! you just knew you were watching a living legend, that was the last time i saw him,and i feel priveliged to have seen the best. This year is the first TT without Joey, but his spirt will be there im sure godbless,we will all miss you and the joy you brought.

Which class would you choose? - Racers viewpoint |

I have to borrow a bike for the Manx (std NC30)and i think it's about time i bought one!
With the TT introducing the 600 prod i am swaying to a std R6 to race in next years MGP jr/snr and move to the TT. But, i like the u/l as the 600 class seems to be Kamikaze-ish, expensive and full of rich boys!
What class would be a good affordable stepping stone to the TT without having to buy a new bike all the time?

The last time my family and I saw Joe was at the John Harris open day at Crowborough in Sussex. He made quite an impression on every one who was there but especially my young son who had the pleasure of sitting on his bike that he was going to ride for John that year. I myself shook his hand and felt very proud to have got that close to him for a few seconds. As John Harris is my Father in law it was a lot more personnal for the family when he had that fatel accident. Thanks Joe for all the pleasure you gave us. yours Ray Weeding and Family....

I am an 18 year old biker, it was my dream to see this great man in action. not only has he touched my heart, but also those of millions of bikers around the world. and espeicially those of whom were less fortunate than he was. he never stopped giving to them, he used his fortune to give them joy. He was a true example of a brilliant man. he died doing something he loved. my heart goes out to his family for the great loss they have. If i live to be half the man he was, I and all of those around me will have been blessed. rest in peace joey. undying love from a devoted fan, Tony Alexander.

Now that the entry acceptances are out I am sure interest will now begin to grow again. From what I hear the rider support for the MGP is very high it is a shame though that commercial support for the event is relied upon from the few rather than the many. Not all competitors wish to ride the TT but pay for the privilage of riding the MGP. Whatever the answer is I am sure this years MGP will be a great event.

A certain 250 rider was posted in the weekends results from Croft as having set a new class Lap Record!
If he can get past Quarter Bridge in the Junior, may do well?

So has this message board been ignored for a reason. Surely the competitors for the 2002MGP have something to say about the forthcoming event.
