CLOCK SET TO TURN BACK TO BIRTH OF ROCK AND ROLL WITH 2015 CLASSIC TT 'PADDOCK CARNIVAL'

This year's free admission Paddock Carnival at the TT Grandstand on Friday 28th August turns the clock back to the 1950's and the birth of Rock and Roll as part of the 2015 Classic TT presented by Bennetts.

Denim, leather jackets, drainpipe jeans and Terylene skirts are expected to be the order of the day as the would be Teddy Boys dig out the brylcreem, lace up their blue suede shoes and 'Slim Jim's' and prepare for a packed day of nostalgic rock and roll and motorcycle entertainment.

While the mid 1950's signified the end of the dominance of British marques at the TT Races, off the track the 'café racer' motorcycle sub culture exploded, going hand in hand with the new 'rock and roll' movement.

The Blue Jays, one of the UK's leading rock and roll tribute bands, will be helping to recreate the 50's scene in the TT paddock with their tribute covers from the leading lights of the era including Buddy Holly, Eddie Cochran, Chuck Berry, Buddy Holly, The Everly Brothers, Gene Vincent, Little Richard, Ritchie Valens and the 'king' himself Elvis Presley.

The award-winning band, who have played many of the UK's leading venues including Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club, Annabel's and the Café de Paris, will be playing two one hour slots in the packed 'Paddock Carnival' schedule.

The full day's entertainment will get underway at 12 O clock with nine time TT Race winner Charlie Williams hosting a series of chat shows with many of the leading Classic TT lights including the main protagonists in the Norton celebrations as well as all of the contenders for Classic TT Race honours.

Michael Dunlop, Lee Johnston, Ryan Farquhar, Ian Lougher, Michael Rutter, Conor Cummins and John McGuinness will all be appearing on stage and sharing their thoughts ahead of Saturday's Bennetts 500cc Classic TT Race while

Away from the stage the ever-popular Purple Helmets stunt team will again be offering up their own inimitable form of mayhem, tricks and outrageous antics as they take over pit lane in mid afternoon while the paddock will also play host to the more serene tranquillity of the Concours D'Elegance, open to all machines - cars and bikes, makes and models, which will be judged at the end of the day by David Cretney, MLC, John McGuinness, David Mylchreest from Mylcreest Motors and Mortons Media publisher Malcolm Wheeler.
