RE: 250s
I don't think so George as under the heading Supertwins/Lightweight the following entrants are listed:-

Andrew Timbrell Spondon Yamaha TZ 250
Neil Cudworh Yamaha TZ 250

and on Twitter, also:-

Tom Snow Honda RS250,

Neil Kent not allowed an entry in the Supertwins - nor I'm told Dan Dayle. The reason being that they "don't want a 250 winning it..." I guess this is the first step in DED/TTFMAG totally ruining the Manx. I wish they'd never got involved.

That makes no sense whatsoever. Last year's fastest lap by Phil McGurk in the ULWT at 20m6.58s was 5 seconds quicker than Neil's best lap on the 250...

RE: 250s in the Manx
The organisers have changed rider eligibility for the modern races and will now consider entries from previous race winners wishing to compete, although riders who have competed in the TT for two years preceding the race, or who have won a TT replica within the previous four years, will not be eligible. The same terms will be applied to the awarding of Classic race replica’s, with replica times now based on the first finisher not to have competed in the two previous TT’s or been awarded a replica in the previous four years TT Races.

The race structure has been reviewed to improve safety for riders by reducing the number of starters to 90 in any one race, and for riders to start on their own, at ten second intervals, which is in line with the policy for the TT Races.

Extract from ACU National Sporting Code
4.10 Refusal of Entries

3. If requested to do so an organiser must inform the Competitor or Entrant for the reason for refusal or acceptance of an entry.

So, those riders who have had entries refused should WRITE to the organisers asking for the reason who will then have to come up with a VALID reason for refusal (not just "Because we dont want you"). If you dont think the reason is a VALID one the Competitor/Entrant can then put in a complaint to the ACU (for what good they are !!!)

Tel, DONT send an e-mail, theres no proof that an e-mail has ever arrived, send a LETTER by RECORDED DELIVERY, SIGNED FOR, you then have PROOF that its been delivered. The Manx Motorcycle Club are extremely good at not replying to letters sent by any other method, after all , letters like e-mails can get lost. Better still send it by Special Delivery, it cost a little bit more but shouldnt be more than £5. Tell them that you EXPECT a reply. You have to be assertive with them, even if its not in your normal nature to be so.

Better than complaining to the ACU, you could always inform one of the , hopefully sf*t stirring, Manx papers of this with the MMCC's reply to back up your story.

Ive still got my reason for refusal of entry, in writing, signed by David Mylchreest for the 2004 Junior Classic race. I didnt bother doing anything about, I just said F**k 'em !

The boys who have been told they can not ride a 250 CAN ride a 650.
Now i could understand that if it was in a split class, but its not???
Very confused.

The MMMC are having their script written by the "powers that be", who don't want those nasty dirty noisy twostrokes to win, and thus make it harder to banish them.

Conspiracy theorist, moi?

Of course - always have been.

And with bl**dy good reason, too!

You with me, George ??

RE: 250s in the Manx
Complaints by riders of the 650s were made last year regarding the speeds achieved by a couple of 250 riders ( 4/6mph faster per lap). The MMCC have no problems with 250s being used but they would prefer if they were ridden by slower or less experienced riders to even the class out.

RE: 250s in the Manx
ok fair enough, just wipe out 250's at the manx in near enough 1 yr AFTER the regs ect gone out, only changing their minds once people started puttin their entrys in.... no 1 knew anythin about it, no email was sent to the riders not even a mention for 250 riders to contact the commitee on the website.

So that being the case (not that the 650's were bothered when they were beating the 400's by a good 3/4 mph) have all the FASTER riders been kicked out of the post classic also then, ie, micheal dunlop, ollie, ryan ect???

I have never known a race meeting kick somebody out of the class/race for being too quick??? is that not the idea, to try an go faster an win?? u dont hear the back markers or the middle pack riders at f1/ moto gp/ bsb or any other event complaining that the front runners are going to fast an they should not b allowed to race???

Every body at the manx be it a faster or slower rider is here for the same thing they want to ride their bikes on the TT course. no-one gains anything from the manx, no money or anythin, so really nobody is taking anythin away from anybody.

How long must u have been coming to be classed as a "more experienced rider" or how fast do u have to go to be a "faster" rider...

Who makes these rules up to? i know for a fact that this was an in-house decision people that are normaly "in the know" didnt know anything about this till again AFTER the fact.

Its just a joke.... i will take back everythin i have said IF (even though we know they havent) dunlop, farquar, ollie ect have been knocked back also from the post classic!

we been told a good 650 would do near on 118+ round here.... maybe dan, paul, davy an neil should get themselves a 650 then, as they have been told they can ride on a 650, just not a 250.

Anyway, rant over, no matter what is said or done nothing will change their minds! dont think the boys who do 250, an 600 will b back to the manx an they can an do ride their 600 in the TT. it was just 1 of the last places they could ride their 2 strokes!

Not havin a go at you George by the way Smile
