That coach reminds me of a boyhood tale.
My late mother (bless her) used to tell this story with
tears (of laughther) in her eyes.
A very very young MV was out in the garden, "helping"
his daddy, as toddlers do.
Dad was turning over heavy soil and not in a postition
to appreciate this "help" from his son.
He certainly had no time for chat.
I was playing with a diecast coach, somewhat larger
than the Dinky one pointed out by Ian.
After a while, I began that annoying habit that young
kids have of repeating things until they get a resonse
"Dad, dad, dad..... can I doing you dad?"
No reaction from the hardworking father.
"Dad, dad, dad..... can I doing you dad?"
Repeated many times.
Finally, dad paused from his travail and muttered the
most unfortunate response....
"Oh, for c****ts sake YES!!"
So, I "doinged" him with the coach, as hard as I could
on his head, which was within reach as he stooped at
work.
I used all the force that a toddler can muster to hit
him with my heavy diecast coach.
Evil child.
My mother had witnessed this from the kitchen window
and was hysterical by now.
She could not help for laughing.
Whenever she retold this tale, she would always fall about
laughing!
I dont thing dad saw it the same way, bless him.
So, all you dads, if your child offers to help, please
check what he or she is actally offering!
