Thursday Night Practice Times/results.

The second practice session of the 2009 North West 200 got off to a dry start with times coming in an average 6 seconds faster, but after the second practice race of the evening the rain made an appearance in Portrush, and soon made its way across the whole of the North West 200 course.

Mechanics were soon advising the riders of a change in tyres with the popular choice being a hard wet front tyre to cope with the changable conditions.

The weather at the North West 200 finally got the better of the racing as the Thursday practice was called off due to rain and lack of light.

The majority of grid positions for Saturday's races will be determined by Tuesday night's times, after speeds on Thursday reduced dramatically because of the conditions.

Kiwi Bruce Anstey will start the Superbike races from pole position after posting the fastest lap for the class on Tuesday at 121.63mph
