Ryan Farquhar will make his return to the Irish road racing scene at the third running of the Armoy 'Race of Legends' meeting on Saturday.

Farquhar sat out the recent races at Skerries, Kells and Walderstown but competed at the Southern 100 on the Isle of Man and took three wins at the Scarborough Cock o' the North races.

Farquhar and Michael Dunlop will ride Superstock machines on Saturday.

"The Superbike doesn't seem to work the same at any circuit," said Farquhar.

"I'm starting to understand it a lot more now so we're making progress."

"Just when you think you've found a good set-up, you have to start again but we're getting there,"
added the Dungannon rider, who will hope to have the machine ready for the Ulster Grand Prix.

The 34-year-old will face stiff opposition from in-form Dunlop brothers Michael and William, plus Guy Martin.

William took a hat-trick of victories at last week's Athea races while Michael was the recent winner of the Southern 100 Solo Championship title.

For the Dunlop brothers, this will be their final shakedown ahead of the Ulster Grand Prix as both have indicated that they will not race at the Mid Antrim 150 next week.

Martin will be making his second appearance on the Irish national road racing scene, having previously competed at the Cookstown 100 in April.

Adrian Archibald, Davy Morgan and Derek Sheils are also in the field, along with English visitors Ben Wylie and Steve Mercer.

Saturday's race programme will include 11 events, with roads closing at 1000 BST.
