WFR Honda trio storm on at Cartagena

WFR Honda continued testing at Cartagena today (Friday) despite unfavourable conditions this morning, as heavy rain left the team working in the garage until the weather improved later in the day, and Alex Lowes, Graeme Gowland and James Westmoreland ventured back out on circuit.

The team began testing at the Spanish circuit yesterday, but with the team not taking to the track today until later in the afternoon, the trio then put in a final push to utilise the time available to continue working on their WFR Honda Fireblades. Lowes was able to test new parts as planned, whilst Gowland focused on suspension changes. Westmoreland continued his work from the opening day on the air bleed system and all three believe that despite the shortened time on track they are still making strong progress ahead of their second Spanish test next week.

Lowes said:

"It was a shame we had rain this morning so we only managed a couple of useful runs later in the day. We did get to test some new parts that we wanted to try and that was what we needed to do today. We now have a direction to work with tomorrow so fingers crossed that we get some good weather so that we can have a mega last day here."

Gowland said:

"We had a thunder storm this morning which we were not expecting so we didn't get out on track until this afternoon. It took a while to get some rubber back on the track but we still worked through some suspension changes and we did definitely make improvements. Hopefully we will have some good weather again tomorrow so we can end the test here with a positive final day."

Westmoreland said:

"It was a shorter day today because of the conditions but we did 35 laps and despite the time made lots of progress with the air bleed system and the clutch. I think today when we did get out on track we were able to make the WFR Honda the best it has been in terms of settings since we started riding and I am feeling confident. We now have one more day here at Cartagena but despite the rain earlier it has been a good day."
