Disappointing NW200 for Michael
[Image: mcadoo.jpg]

McAdoo Racing rider Michael Dunlop had a disappointing 2012 North West 200 at the weekend.

The former NW200 race winner suffered from a little misfortune and perhaps a lack of horsepower at the high speed Irish course. Whilst running consistently in the top six in every class with a best result of 5th on the Hunts/McAdoo Racing Honda Superbike, Michael and the McAdoo team had high hopes for podium finishes.

The McAdoo Racing/Ard Na Mara Suzuki 600 lost out badly on the high speed straights meaning Michael had to push really hard to stay with the pack but still salvaged a couple of sixth place finishes.

Superbike race one was also looking like a sixth place but Michael overshot the Juniper Hill chicane on the Hunts/McAdoo Racing Honda Superbike and dropped him down to an eventual 10th place finish. Thankfully Superbike race two was better and Michael rode a good race to grab 5th place at the flag.

The McAdoo Racing/Gortreagh Printing Kawasaki ZX-10R Superstock bike developed a fuel pump problem during the warm-up lap of the Superstock race meaning Michael missed out on a class he’s usually very strong in.

Next up for the McAdoo Racing team is the Isle of Man TT. The famous mountain course will see the debut of the team’s new McAdoo Racing/Gortreagh Printing Kawasaki ER-6 Supertwin which is close to completion. Hopefully all the bikes will perform better on Mona’s Isle!
