At their Annual Dinner Dance at the La-Mon Hotel & Country Club on November 3rd 2012; the Davy Morgan #71 Road Racing Supporters Club and Davy Morgan Racing showed their continued support for Cancer Charities by adding to the £10,350 they have contributed in recent years.

Saintfield Road Racer Davy Morgan and his Supporters Club, despite finding the past season one of the toughest yet financially; still managed to present a cheque for £1000 to the Northern Ireland Cancer Fund for Children from the sale of merchandise and their Pin Badges modelled on Davy’s famous Pink Helmet at race meetings throughout Ireland, UK and Isle of Man. In previous years the team and DM#71 Road Racing Supporters Club’s main charity was Action Cancer, but for 2012 the decision was taken that since their third and final pin badge was promoting Children’s Cancer Awareness that it would be appropriate to support a Children’s Cancer Charity as well and the Northern Ireland Cancer Fund for Children was chosen.

The club have not forgotten Action Cancer and the good relationship that has been built up with them over the past four years, so the plan is to make a presentation to them at the “Davy Morgan Golf Day” on Friday 22nd March 2013 at Knock Golf Club.

Davy Morgan Racing and the DM#71 Road Racing Supporters Club would like to thank everyone who purchased Badges or Merchandise throughout 2012 for their support and generosity.

Announcing the presentation Supporters Club Chairman Robert McKeag said;

“It’s a privilege to be able to help the Northern Ireland Cancer Fund for Children and make this presentation to them. We know that in the overall scheme it’s not massive amounts of money, but it is still something that all of us involved with Davy Morgan Racing should be proud off. I want to thank everyone who has made it possible and for the continued generosity of the Road Racing public.”

Rider Davy Morgan commented;

“It has been a tough year trying to stay on track and for us as a small Privateer Team to still make this presentation is a great credit to every member of the team and supporters club. I am proud to be part of a team that not only looks at itself, which is very easy to do in this sport, but has managed over the past few years to help people who are struggling with this awful and life changing disease.”

NICFC Representative Natasha;

“It’s a privilege to be here tonight and I want to thank Davy, the Team and Supporters Club for this donation to the work of the Northern Ireland Cancer Fund for Children. In Northern Ireland three children and young people each week are diagnosed with some form of cancer and we see first-hand the impact this has on their lives and the lives of their families. In our respite centre at Shimna Valley we try to move them away from hospitals and tests to create a relaxing environment where they can forget their worries and fears at least for a while. We are about to set out on a £3 million rebuild and we now have £1000 less to find so thank you.”
