Around-A-Pound has been confirmed as the main sponsor for this year’s Tandragee 100 National Road Races.

The announcement made by the North Armagh Motorcycle and Car (Tarmac Section) Ltd comes with preparations well underway for the race, scheduled to take place on Friday 3rd and Saturday 4th May 2013.

The local company, established by Gerard and Siobhan Rice in 1999, are once again showing their support for the Tandragee 100 National Road Race having been key sponsors for the race for 7 years.

“We are delighted that Around-A-Pound have confirmed as this year’s main sponsor. Gerard and Siobhan have been very supportive towards both the Club and the race over the years and we are pleased to be continuing that relationship in 2013. The event just would not be the same without them and our other valued sponsors. I’d also like to encourage the public to get behind our sponsors and support them as well as the race itself. With our budget rising to roughly £70,000 and insurance increases of almost 26% this year everyone who gives a donation at the gate, buys a programme or grandstand ticket are also making a significant contribution to our event alongside the 800 volunteers who make the event possible” said Anne Forsythe, Clerk of Course.

From humble beginnings they launched their first store in May 1999, taking over the building that originally housed the Pound City store in Newry, initially creating employment for five people then increasing to ten within the first year. In June 2001 they opened their second outlet in the centre of Banbridge creating a further ten jobs.
