Re: sound series?
"Schofield's Sound Stories" is what you're looking for methinks.
I had one many moons ago, and almost wore out the back of my mum's settee doing an impression of Duke/Surtees et al, in racing crouch while listening to it!
Larry Devlin or Bill Snelling will fill you in I think, on where to get copies?

Re: sound series?
Actually the Duke DVD "History of the TT races" has sound recordings made during the 50s and 60s put on as bonus material. And quite superb it is too.

Re: sound series-collectors items?
You can get them on e-bay sometimes !! But at a price..

I have a few but they are in my collection and they are strange, large discs, which do not fit my DVD player !!

They are called LPs and play at 33 revs per min..

Dear God !!!

But I still play 'em sometimes

Re: sound series-collectors items?
Have you ever tried, when playing the bit with Camathias on the Gilera going round Governors bridge, adjusting the left and right speakers, so it appears to climb the stairs!!
Oh, boy, that noise...those were the days!!
Mind you, the Dukes sound pretty nice.
I am pretty sure you can get all the sound stories on CD from Duke...have a look at the website (I'm scared to look, cos I spend money every time)

Bikes on the stairs
Of course that only works if you have stairs in your house!
If you know Peter Krukowski, ask him about the outfit up the stairs......

Re: Bikes on the stairs
We do some crazy things at times, don't we but I love doing the housework to the "music" from my tapes which include TT sounds from 1957 to 1964 and TT highlights of 1965-1968. Oh, what bliss. The sounds I mean - not the housework!

Re: Bikes on the stairs
I recorded the full commentary of the 1983 F1 TT on a tape recorder whilst sitting in the Grandstand-----------Now that is a souvenir to have--
Joey breaking 115 (ave 114) with Granty second and McElnea third--

From beginning to end, and I play this through in the car, in the house and at work--

It brings a tear to the eyes, I can tell you !!!

Brilliant, and all on a little tape recorder which I had borrowed from work (with permission)

Re: sound series-collectors items?
Dont know about the year or the passengers name, but theres no footbridge at Creg now. Theres also no pub where you can go to in the van after practice, or get blind drunk in when youve broken down there in the race, there is a restaurant instead. I believe theres also no campsite there now either, but may be wrong on that one. Ive also got a couple of Sound Stories LPs and also a few 45s of Hailwood. Hocking,Surtees, McIntyre etc.
