Monster Yamaha Tech 3 Team rider Cal Crutchlow’s busy schedule took him to Buenos Aires in South America today, the British rider embarking on a special promotional tour in advance of the MotoGP World Championship returning to Argentina in 2014.

Fresh from his third place in Saturday’s Dutch TT at Assen and a memorable visit behind-the-scenes of the Mercedes AMG Petronas Formula One Team during the British Grand Prix at Silverstone on Sunday, Crutchlow made the long trip to South America for a series of on and off track promotional activities that commenced today.

The 27-year-old attended a packed press conference at the NH City & Tower in Buenos Aires where he and several other representatives of the MotoGP community got a warm welcome from fans, media and officials.

More than 150 members of the media assembled for the press conference, which was attended by a large number of local dignitaries including the head of the National Tourism Department Enrique Meyer.

Crutchlow is now looking forward to breaking new ground later this week when he takes part in a two-day test session at the magnificent new Autodromo Termas de Rio Hondo.

Crutchlow, who has finished on the rostrum in three out of the last four races in a riveting 2013 campaign, has the honour of being one of the first to lap the 4.8km layout on a prototype MotoGP machine when the test gets underway on Thursday.

“This is my first visit to Argentina and I have been overwhelmed with how much interest there is in MotoGP. The passion and enthusiasm for MotoGP here is infectious and it will be great to be back next year for the race. South America is a key market for Yamaha and Dorna and the interest today proves why it is essential that there is a MotoGP race in this part of the world. Now I am looking forward to trying out the new track on Thursday and Friday. It is a huge privilege for me to be one of the first to ride the track on a MotoGP bike and great that the Monster Yamaha Tech 3 Team can be involved in helping promote the sport here. From what I have seen the new track looks fantastic. I've had chance to see some on-board footage and it looks like it will be a good challenge next season with some very fast sections. I hope the people of Argentina are going to enjoy seeing us racing in their country.”
