The Metzeler Ulster Grand Prix Bike Week commences on Monday, August 12 as the build-up continues to the world’s fastest road race on Saturday, August 17.

Practice takes place on Wednesday, August 14 with final practice for the Ulster Grand Prix plus the Topaz Dundrod 150 road reaces taking place on Thursday, August 15.

A final press launch took place recently, hosted by Lisburn City Council, which was attended by a host of riders including Ian Lougher, who is preparing for his final race at Dundrod before retiring at the end of the 2013 season.

Vauxhall KMR Kawasaki’s Jamie Hamilton also attended the event along with Fermanagh’s Lee Johnston, Michael Pearson, Mark Hanna, Shaun Anderson and Christian Elkin.

One of the biggest sporting attractions of the year in Northern Ireland, the Ulster Grand Prix is steeped in history and this year celebrates the 60th anniversary of racing on the current Dundrod circuit.

A stellar line-up has been secured, including Michael Dunlop, Guy Martin, Bruce Anstey, William Dunlop, Gary Johnson, Conor Cummins and Dean Harrison.

Noel Johnston, Ulster GP Clerk of the Course, said:

“We know that expectations are high for this year’s Ulster Grand Prix and we have a brilliant line-up of competitors, so as long as the weather holds up, hopefully no-one will go home disappointed.

“Anyone who wants to attend can purchase their entry wristband at Topaz Airport Road Service Station, all Lidl stores in Northern Ireland from August 5 while stocks last, and at the road-ends approaching the circuit.”

Wristbands granting entry to the course and the paddock throughout race week cost £25. Under 16s are free.
