Alastair Seeley heads the Motorpoint British Supersport Championship standings ahead of this weekend’s Donington Park round but the Gearlink Kawasaki rider knows that he will have a fight on his hands as Stuart Easton aims to slash his advantage in the standings.

Seeley had his first weekend of the season at Cadwell Park where he failed to celebrate a podium finish following a huge crash in the Sprint race, but fought back with an eighth place damage limitation act. Martrain Yamaha’s Easton reeled in his title rival as he cut the advantage to 22 points last time out but knows that this weekend could prove pivotal to his title aspirations.

The second Gearlink Kawasaki of Ben Wilson showed his pace at his home round of Cadwell Park as he claimed his third win of the season and is targeting another winning performance this weekend as he bids to maintain his advantage over Billy McConnell in the standings. The Smiths Racing Triumph rider claimed his first victory of the season at Cadwell Park and the title-winning team are eager to upset the order.

Graeme Gowland and Jason O’Halloran both returned to the podium at Cadwell Park and both will be fighting for the fifth place in the overall standings at Donington Park.

Motorpoint British Supersport Championship standings:

1. Alastair Seeley (Gearlink Kawasaki) 303
2. Stuart Easton (Martrain Yamaha) 281
3. Ben Wilson (Gearlink Kawasaki) 250
4. Billy McConnell (Smiths Racing Triumph) 228
5. Graeme Gowland (Appleyard Macadam Yamaha) 185
