The Milwaukee Yamaha team are busy preparing at their Guisborough HQ as they countdown to the 2014 MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship, with the groundwork well underway ahead of the team’s pre-season testing campaign.

Tommy Bridewell returns with the Milwaukee Yamaha team this season after impressive performances during last year’s Showdown with Australian Josh Brookes set to make his Yamaha debut this season. As the days count down to the start of the season, there is little rest for the Superbike team as they prepare to challenge for a second title.

Team co-ordinator and chief engineer Mick Shanley said:

“People always ask what we do during the pre-season and the truth is it is as busy now as it is when we are racing! There is a lot of preparation that goes into running a team – everything from liveries of the bikes to team clothing, trucks and of course ensuring we get to the best possible point back at base with the Milwaukee Yamahas ready for when we go testing.

“I feel that the team are already in pretty good shape at this point; we are now counting down to testing and we have completed some really positive work over the winter with engine development that gives us strong foundations to begin testing. We always still have work to do, but as a starting point we are in a good position. We have a test planned at Cartagena and then a further private test before heading back to the UK.

“Tommy has been visiting the workshop to see what has been going on and is really keen to get back out on the Milwaukee Yamaha again and build on the experience he had with the team at the end of last season. Myself and Josh have also been speaking regularly and I am really looking forward to working with him as he really is a motivated rider. Everyone is gearing up for the new season and this week we have taken delivery of the new 17” wheels ready for this year. We also have Hutchy’s FFX Yamaha being built in the workshop here and that is really starting to come together now too.

“The team are all really counting down the days until we are on track now; it can’t come soon enough!”
