The much awaited Legends Museum, which was first planned for the late 90’s, is now back on course, the project having previously being shelved due to lack of finances.
The ‘Legends Museum’ was first dreamed up by the late Denis Parkinson winner of the first ever 350cc race at Oliver’s Mount in 1946, the plan being, to provide somewhere for the top riders from the Oliver’s Mount race meetings to display there memorabilia, machines, trophies, awards and career records.
After the initial press launch Auto 66 Racing were inundated with requests from past and present competitors to be allowed to display their career memorabilia.
Over time the club has received and collected so much memorabilia that they are rapidly running out of space to store it, which recently prompted a meeting of enthusiasts to form a working party, chaired by Peter Hillaby.
This group met last weekend and fixed the next meeting for Sunday 23rd February, 2014 in Scarborough.

With no time to spare, the project must be progressed rapidly, it would be a fitting tribute to everyone who has raced Oliver’s Mount over the years to have it officially opened in the 70th anniversary year 2016.
