Byrne versus Brookes in Snetterton warm up

Shane 'Shakey' Byrne and Josh Brookes continued their battle for the top in MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship warm up at Snetterton this morning with the triple champion stealing the advantage on his final lap.

Byrne fired in his final lap of the session that put him ahead of Brookes by just 0.399s as the pair continued their battle for supremacy. Ryuichi Kiyonari closed in on the leading duo in the final minutes of the session as he claimed third spot for the Buildbase BMW team with his fastest lap of the weekend so far.

Quattro Plant Kawasaki had a strong performance this morning in fourth place with Dan Linfoot; he had been running at the top of the timing screens over the opening minutes and held off Chris Walker on the leading Lloyds British GBmoto Racing Kawasaki.

Julien Da Costa dropped to sixth in the final minutes with the last lap improvements from his rivals whilst James Ellison held off Tommy Bridewell for seventh position. Jakub Smrz and Patric Muff completed the top ten, again featuring six nationalities and five different manufacturers.
