David Griffiths : Parish Walk
Good Luck to David today completing in the Isle of Man's biggest
walking event of the year, which is 85 miles.

David has a good record race walking from Douglas to Peel, hoping
to beat his time of around 5hours 45mins.This is 32,5 miles.
Start time is 9am from the National Sports Centre in Douglas, some
1050 walkers had entered, we'll see how many actually start !

Go David Go !

Lots love
Gail

Beat me to it, Gail...came in to put up the same message.
David is a great supporter and fan of road racing, and, having seen him in action, I think he is as great a sportsman as all our competitors. Good luck. I'll be checking www.manxathletics.com all day.
I might have relaxed wee walk round the garden to keep you company, David!

Re: David Griffiths : Parish Walk
It is great to see other people out walking and not sitting home on their bu#s doing naf all.
Do I detect a hint of bias in Gail's posting?

Re: David Griffiths : Parish Walk
I am pleased to report that I was the second competitor to reach Peel (32.5 miles), in a time of 5 hours 48 minutes, which is no less than 22 minutes faster than my time last year. The Parish Walk is a fantastic event with over 1000 entrants this year - it was a great sight at the Sports Centre this morning with so many people lined up on the track !

Re: David Griffiths : Parish Walk
I think it is time for the bikers and car drivers to strike back. Why are we enduring all these road closures just because a minority want to go for a walk? Footpaths are for walking on so why don't they walk it on them?

Well done David.

I am so chuffed for you, David. Well Done!
And...while David was dashing around the Island, his cousin Bob was over here at East Fortune, passengering for Eddy Tombs....nice sidecar slide style at the Hannah complex, guys. Also across, but having no luck, were Artie Oates and Tim Dixon. Thanks to you all for competing in Scotland, and I hope you all enjoyed yourselves and will come back.
