Dan Kneen on the move

Burrows Engineering Racing has lost the services of Manxman Dan Kneen, despite taking him to Ulster and Irish Road Racing Superbike titles in 2014.

Team owner John Burrows broke the news yesterday afternoon, throwing his plans for the upcoming season into chaos.

The affable Dungannon businessman and former racer said:

"Over the weekend Dan and I had a conversation and he revealed that he has decided to seek his fortunes elsewhere next year.

"I appreciated his honesty and wish him all the best in the future. It is an amicable parting of ways and we have not ruled out working together again in the future. There's no point in burning bridges."

Burrows' team has been strongly linked to Jamie Hamilton and veteran Scottish racer Keith Amor.

Burrows is proud to have given Kneen a strong footing on the local and international road racing scene, having taken the 24-year-old to 12 Superbike wins en-route to the Irish and Ulster titles, not forgetting a hard-fought Superstock victory at the Ulster Grand Prix.

Despite no official announcement to date, Kneen is expected to join Ballymoney-based Millsport Racing for next season, with the rumour mill expecting James and Patrick Murray's JMF-backed team to run Suzuki machinery on the roads with Manxman.
