There is a question on another message board asking if Hailwood ever raced against Kenny Roberts at daytona? anybody got any idea? Regards leech

I found this an interesting question!
I am not sure I know the answer, but I am tempted to say that they were not "competitive contemporaries." I have done some internet searches and looked in my collection of books and it would seem to me that Mikes last Daytona apperance (1971?) must have been at least 2 or 3 years before King Kenny got there.
Any other thoughts?

My extensive records fail to show any competitive racing against each other----However, didn't Mike go to Daytona in 1979 to the "parade" before he did the TT ?

Any one know the facts ???
