Josh Brookes and Broc Parkes got their 2015 MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship campaign underway in earnest yesterday (Tuesday) as the new Milwaukee Yamahas rolled out for the first time at the official Yamaha Racing R1 test at Alcarras in Spain.

The test marked the first time the new R1s have taken to the track and both the team and the riders used the opening day on circuit to get accustomed to the new machine, completing their first laps and building up their initial mileage ahead of the official test at Donington Park later in the month. The pair were also joined on track by the team's road race contender Michael Dunlop.

Team manager Mick Shanley said:

"It has been a really positive start for the team here in Spain with both Josh and Broc having their first experience of the new race bike. Today was the next stage of our programme after a lot of hard work from the team over the winter.

"The opening day has been about getting some laps under our belt and I am happy with this first shakedown - it has all gone smoothly and the Milwaukee Yamahas have not missed a beat, which is a testament to Yamaha and also to our team. We can already see that the bike has huge potential and we haven't even scratched the surface yet."
