Fastest Lap 250
Nice to see so many riders putting messages here.
I start racing next year so you better all watch your backs! Or rather the mobile chicane comming up fast!
Could anyone tell me the fastest lap for the T.T. in the 250cc. And also the race time?
Also any info on how to get sponsership would be great. I live in K.Michael and funds are tight, same for so many. Cheers

Re: Fastest Lap 250
Shaun Harris got the fastest lap didn't he, but that was during the Senior about 2000, and he was thought to have had a tow off a bigger bike. The fastest lap in the 250 TT I think is John McGuiness, at about 19.03, roughly 119mph.OK, I'm probably wrong, and we are both about to find out when the real historians read this!!

Re: Fastest Lap 250
Leslie, I have got it down as Bruce Anstey on a DTR Yamaha at 118.03 MPH for the fastest lap and the race average of 115.32 MPH and a race time of 1-18-31.1.
No doubt if this is not correct I will be blown away by the all the other old fogies.
That was in the TT of 2002 and you are of course aware that there was sadly no longer a 250TT from 2003 onwards. There is still a class for 250s in the Manx Grand Prix for at least next year that I know about.
Good luck and stay away from the gutters.

Re: Fastest Lap 250
Officially, the fastest 250 is John McGuinness who lapped at 118.26mph on the Vimto Honda in 1999 although Bruce Anstey did get close in 2002 with 118.03mph (DTR Yamaha). I'm not sure if Shaun Harris has gone quicker, I know he did over 118mph in practice but I thought he did 117.85mph in the race (it was the 1998 Senior when he came eighth), which at the time was the fastest 250cc lap, bettering Ian Lougher's 1990 time of 117.80mph.
