The scene is set for some spectacular racing at the SGS International Armoy Race of Legends road races after the big guns dominated practice and qualifying.

In the Superbike class it was the Tyco BMW pair of William Dunlop and Guy Martin who set the pace and start alongside each other on the front row of the grid with William with a speed of 104.479mph a second ahead of his team mate (103.419mph).

Half a second further back joining Dunlop and Martin on the front row is Derek Sheils (102.799mph) on his BikeBits NI Kawasaki with the second row comprising of Keith Amor and Michael Dunlop while Ryan Farquhar, Derek McGee, Dean Harrison on the Mar-Train Yamaha and Seamus Elliott complete the first group of riders.

William Dunlop and Martin switch manufacturers for the Supersport race with Dunlop (102.303mph) putting the CD/IC Caffrey International backed R6 Yamaha on pole 1.7secs ahead of Martin (100.662mph) riding the TAS Suzuki for the first time.

In fact this is the machine that took Alastair Seeley to victory at the North West 200, with Harrison (100.204mph) making up the front row.

Sheils and Amor will start from row two while Seamus Elliott, McGee, Paul Jordan and Sam Wilson complete the first group of riders in the 27 man field.

Michael Dunlop has no Supersport machine at Armoy, but is standing in for Michael Sweeney in the 250GP race riding John Burrow's Cookstown BE Honda and set the fastest lap of 94.155mph around the 3-mile circuit.

Just over half a second clear of Sam Wilson riding Joey's Bar MCC Honda and the Logan Racing Honda of Neil Kernohan.

In an all 2-stroke grid for the Moto3/125GP race it was Magherafelt rider Paul Jordan who took pole position with a lap of 88.359mph just over a second ahead of Nigel Moore with Wilson completing the front row.

Adam McLean from Tobermore was fourth fastest, but took pole position for the Junior Support race a quarter of a second faster than Timothy Elwood, with Brian Coomey completing the front row.

Female Czech Rep rider Veronika Hankocyova will start from seventh in a packed 27 rider field.

Fellow Czech Michal Dokoupil topped the Lightweight qualifying session on his R T & E 400cc Kawasaki two and a half seconds clear of the SGS Manx Gas by KMR 450cc Kawasaki of Ryan Farquhar looking for his twelfth victory around Armoy.

Roads closed this morning at 10am, followed by a packed programme of 11 races culminating with the Race of Legends which has been won by Michael Dunlop for the last four years.

It should be a fantastic day's racing.
