Re: harleys at the tt
I assume we are talking about 250s here? Ian probably got confused about Alex George He rode a Cagiva in 1979 and Tommy Johnsons, Manchester, Yamaha in 1978

Re: harleys at the tt
Amwerican Lance Weil rode a Harley on the British short circuits in the late 60's and early 70's, he did the TT over a number of years but will have to find out if he rode the Harley.

Re: harleys at the tt
I remember seeing Brian Hussey on a Harley in the Manx mid 70's, the two stroke H-D Aermacchi.
If memory serves me right I think Lance Weil did ride the big Harley in the TT, I'm still to look up the records though.

Re: harleys at the tt
Don't think so Elwyn, he rode Norton, Matchless and a Triumph in 1967 and 1969 and later in 1977 on a Laverda but never a Harley at the T.T. but he did race a Harley on the short circuits. He was a bit of a T.V star as well.

Probably the best American rider on a Harley to come over over here was Cal Raborne for the Easter Match Races.

His late braking technique at Old Hall corner at Oulton Park was mind boggling, seem to remember him saying he flew Phantom jets at very low level through mountains in the Korean war so outbraking everyone was easy.

Re: harleys at the tt
I believe it was Dale Singleton on an XR1000 like Cal Rayborns their was someone else with him who also rode and I believe it to be the late 70s early 80s. They Rode in the Senior and they Rode around together in the Race........
