Tommy Bridewell topped the MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship morning warm up at Brands Hatch on the Sheene liveried Bennetts Suzuki, claiming the top spot by 0.009s ahead of Shane 'Shakey' Byrne in an incredibly close session where the top 16 covered by 0.970s.

Bridewell set the benchmark early in the session before Byrne hit the top of the times with just eight minutes left on the clock. The Bennetts Suzuki rider was on a roll though and in the final five minutes he moved back ahead by just 0.009s to hold the advantage at the chequered flag.

James Ellison was back in the top three this morning for JG Speedfit Kawasaki as he leapt up the order in the closing moments to push rookie Glenn Irwin back into fourth position on the second of the Be Wiser Ducatis.

Richard Cooper on the Buildbase BMW continued his consistent form to hold fifth place in morning warm up ahead of an improving Leon Haslam on the second of the JG Speedfit Kawasakis. Pole-sitter Luke Mossey was seventh fastest ahead of Dan Linfoot and Jakub Smrz on the Smiths Racing BMW.
