Lincolnshire’s Gary Johnson could be set to replace Lee Johnston in the East Coast Racing team at the MCE Ulster Grand Prix after the Northern Ireland rider was ruled out of the event with a broken collarbone. 

Fermanagh star Johnston came off his 250cc Honda in the wet at the hairpin during early practice on Wednesday. 

A replacement is being sought to take over the rides on Johnston’s BMW Superbike and Superstock machines and his Triumph Supersport bike, with English rider Johnson available to step in to fill the void for East Coast boss Phil Reed. 

Johnson would have a day's practice time on Thursday to get up to speed ahead of Saturday's main race bill if all the loose ends can be pulled together.
