ELLIOTT ‘BONNIE’ ABOUT SCOTTISH RETURN WITH TYCO BMW AT KNOCKHILL

Tyco BMW look forward to welcoming Josh Elliott back into the team for this weekend’s fourth round of the 2017 British Superbike Championship at Knockhill in Scotland, where he will again compete in the National 1000cc Superstock class.

The Northern Irishman rode for Tyco BMW in the highly-charged Stock 1000 class last season, where he took five podiums and a solitary victory on his way to finishing fifth in the series, aboard a TAS Racing prepared S1000RR.

The 23-year-old was the number 1 plate holder in 2016, having taken the National 1000cc Superstock Championship title in 2015 and along with team manager Philip Neill, is excited at the prospect of re-igniting his relationship with the Tyco BMW squad at Knockhill.

Josh Elliott:

“I’m really looking forward to working with the TAS boys again this weekend: I know the team and the bike well, and I also know what I’m capable of around the Scottish circuit. I’m confident we can get into the ballpark quite quickly, but we could do with some consistent weather to help make things a little easier. I haven’t been riding this season but I’ve been keeping myself fit, and with the new format in the Superstock class giving me two bites at the cherry, I’m confident we can be up there challenging. I’d obviously like to thank TAS Racing for the opportunity to work with the Tyco BMW team again; it will be great to be back on the British championship grid.”

Philip Neill – Team Manager:

“Obviously our first thoughts are with Hutchy as he recovers from the leg injuries he sustained during the Senior TT on the Isle of Man. Thankfully he is now on the road to recovery.

With Hutchy missing from action we are delighted to offer Josh the opportunity to re-join Tyco BMW for this weekend’s Superstock races. Josh is a class act and after some great performances on the S1000RR last season, it will be interesting to see how quickly he can get himself up to speed this weekend after some time off a bike.”
